The way I see it, the problem with American cars (from Ford and GM mostly) lies with poor styling/design coupled with poor quality/reliability (perceived or otherwise). You aren't going to get people excited enough to buy your cars with those two things going against you, regardless of how much you mark the price down. Do you see Lexus and M-B offering huge rebates?

Honda, Toyota and other Asian car manufacturers will win every time on the basis of quality/reliability alone. And those who don't care for the driving aspects/styling of those with go for European models (Volkswagen and others). So, until GM or Ford get AT LEAST one of these things right, the downslide will continue. (They other problems they need fixed too, like their pension plans. Unions are killing them).

This car exactly what Ford need to inject some life back into their lineup (style/design component). They probably won't bring it here, because they must think Americans like really boring/poor driving cars and because the execs so brilliant. Come on guys, go buy a Honda Civic and drive it for a couple months, after driving the current Focus for a couple months. Tell me which is better and be honest us and yourselves (most importantly).
