It’s been more than a year since Dodge unveiled its replacement for the Neon-based SRT4 at the 2006 Chicago auto show. The wait comes to end this September with the debut of Caliber SRT4.

Featuring a turbocharged and intercooled version of the global Chrysler 2.4-liter DOHC inline four with dual variable valve timing, the engine produces 280 hp and 260-lb-ft of torque—and we hear the real numbers are actually as much as 5 hp and 5 lb-ft higher than that.

I dont rly care, way too overpwrd for a FWD. The MAzdaspeed3 I'll take but this will be big and floaty.

Chrysler/Dodge, or whatever they are called now, should again team up with Mitsubishi and share platforms in order to save costs (like in the eighties and early nineties). Something like what Ford and Mazda is doing. Then again, both these companies are in financial trouble but its the logical thing to do.

AWD would have been more prudent here.This should torque steer it self off the road.I hope they improve the interior quality.
