Mercedes Kicks BMW To The Curb, No Future Cooperative Plans

The Drama!!! First Mercedes starts dating BMW and now BMW gets dumped. lol

As a consumer, I don't want more cooperation between Mercedes and BMW. What I want is fierce competition. I drive an A6 but will gladly switch to Mercedes if they bring the vision C220 Bluetec to North America sooner than later. I almost bought a Mercedes diesel back in the sixties and never did end up with a diesel although I always wanted one.

A mistake i don't think so. MB plan to release hybrids, which they've the technology for already. Their new model line up is quite frankly amazing, and most importantly. Their reliablity is getting back to the prior 1999, rock solid build quality. I think the GIANT is back...

Mercedes hates BMW so much. BMW stole their show and kicked their butt not so long ago. So obviously they wouldnt accept such an offer.. they want to get their revenge. But we'll see who laughs in the end...

BMW stole Rolls Royce/Bentley from Mercedes, they were all set to buy it, then BMW stuck their oar in.

BMW bought the Rolls Royce name, and then ruined the cars.
They look uglier than a Ford Granada.

A Rolls Royce has more road presence that anything else. It looks so elegant and gigantic. It screams LUXURY!

BMW is an independent company. As they say in their ads. Why would they ever want to ask for help with a cooperation? That would go against their ads.

Besides I doubt MB would want an arrogant BMW partner.

BMW IS DEFINITELY IN TROUBLE! IN ORDER FOR BMW TO COMPLETE WITH AUDI AND LEXUS. BMW IS ASKING MERCEDES FOR HELP. (THIS IS WHAT MERCEDES RESPOND TO BMW! SORRY YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN AND PLEASE STOP CRYING LIKE A BABY! BY THE WAY PLEASE GET THE HELL OUT OF MY FACE!)

I doubt that BMW is in trouble but I have to agree that Audi and Mercedes are both better. the Audi A8 has a superior AWD system with Torden centre differential as well as an aluminum body that can't rust; and the Mercedes S-Class has the worlds best car seats.

sure Audi can rust, a friend of mine got an A6 MY 2000 and it has startede to rust.

BMW does not want to get together with mercedes the way mercedes got together with chrysler, they just want to work together. Like in environment ways, that sort. They will still be competing against it other.

Lucky for him he has a rust warantee till 2012.
Nobody matches VW's corrosion warantee.
(although i haven't seen a VW or Audi built in the 90's with rust on it yet ... but I'm on the west coast)

BMW knows that Audi is going to eat their lunch soon!
They're groping for options to stave off the inevitable.
Maybe they could build cars with interiors that don't look like they were designed for bats.
All that wood and leather is hard to appreciate when the interior is a dark cave that looks like a cheap, black plastic GM.

(and i can't understand why most A6's are silver-on-black ... why stain such nice wood black? Its a crime!)

How you define "quality"? BMW and Mercedes are certainly NOT defining it as a lack of defects. For BMW, "quality" is a great sporting drive (for a sedan or coupe) and lots of techno toys. For M-B, it's more of a focus on apparent luxury. So I guess M-B "quality" is the fine woods and cushy leathers, and ignore the break-downs, because that's the price you pay for "impeccable quality".

BMW and M-B are great for what they are, but in my mind, the word "quality" does not come to mind with those brands. It does for Lexus. Then again, I aspire to own a Bentley GTC, quality or not.
