Does Alfa Have a RS4 and M3 Slayer in the Works?

Alfa Romeo looks set to abandon a high-performance version of the Holden-built V6 in favour of a Ferrari V8 as the Italians' 159 GTA targets the Audi RS4 and new BMW M3.

Our spy photographers have snapped a muscular-looking 159 sedan testing at Germany's Nurburgring circuit, and the thinly disguised vents on both the front guards and the bonnet suggest this prototype is powered by a high-performance V8.

Call me a stupid American but I just don't like the exterior styling. The RS4 and M3 look much better. Good for them though.

I find styling a bit harsh and rims too gimmicky. Alfa makes some very sexy interiors however and this one may be no exception.

A Ferrari V8 under the hood would really make the 159 go to the next level.
I hope that when Alfa Romeo makes its way back to North America, we will see this baby here.

Perhaps not at 1st but perhaps after Alfa has a few sales under it's belt in the US we will. The last Ferrari V8 in a sedan was in the FWD Lancia Thema(which was never imported here). The advantage this time is way more power and AWD. I think the 159 is a beautiful car.

Alfa has an RS4 / M3 competitor in the works... not slayer.

Alfa offers sumptuous interiors and fantastic styling, but they are no longer the track cars they used to be 35+ years ago. And yes, boys and girls, that's OK! It doesn't mean that they are not great cars if they aren't first place in everything. I hope they are sold in North America again soon.

NOT a Ferrari engine from the 430, but a 4.2 V8 from Maserati/400hp if they DO decide on using a V8.

M3 Slayer? I thought that the Lexus IS250 already did that.
