Motor Trend Takes the Mercedes C63 AMG Out For A Spin

Motor Trend Takes the Mercedes C63 AMG Out For A Spin
With its M3, BMW has owned the C-segment hot-rod market, winning hearts, minds, and comparison tests for decades. Others have competed, few have been competitive.

Now Mercedes-AMG is plotting a hostile takeover of this popular niche. Your brows are furrowing, recalling that the last four fat-tired, big-motored C-classes to roll out of Affalterbach have won drag races only to be outmaneuvered by the Bavarian. You're thinking, can the C63 AMG possibly be that good, or has AMG wined and dined this guy into senseless parroting of the PR flack's hyperbole? I claim the Fifth on the subject of alco/gastro inducements, but present the following evidence for my enthusiasm:

Sounds like you have a problem with BMW's buddy. i'm not sure what constitutes decades to you.

any btw, when did expensive looking interiors appeal to the majority of perf car buyers?

"Back on topic, C63 looks great, but interior looks about as expensive as a Kia, only the 3 series interior looks cheaper."

Ah yes, I love when people who have never sat in either vehicle give comparative opinions like this. Since neither the M3 nor ANY iteration of new C-class is out for you to have sat in, touched, or even looked at, you're merely confirming your status on this site as a moron. Keep it up, though, it's always good for a laugh.

Why only M3 and IS-F comparisons? Why no RS4 comparisons?

cause they know that the RS4 is better and is still king of this segment.

Mercedes Engineers, lazy and uncompetitive.
C63, a truck engine with lower than full-size truck MPG.

IS-F will beat it while still returning 22+mpg combined.

Youre full of it. The only thing u know how to say about Merc is how "unreliable" they are. Back up your claim with some data and earn some respect. Your factless fanboy comments are getting old

lexus has never made a performance car. your claims about the gradeur of the IS-F are ridiculous considering this fact...and the fact that none of us has ever driven it.

Everyone say goodbye IS-F, M3, and RS4. I doubt even a Skyline GT-R or Corvette Z06 SS can keep up with this new C63. Just by looking at the specs, the C63 is on par in handling and performance with the 997 GT3-RS. Given, the horsepower advantage over the GT3-RS, it'll probably run around the track faster either. This is a poor man's supercar in a C-class body with the soul of a SLR 722. A more direct competitor might be the new upcoming F430 Challenge Stradle.

Buddy, are you ok? What specs are you reading that I'm missing out on that not only do you think it can beat GT3 and F430, but to compete with the RS and Challenge Stradle?

Let me start you off on a quote from the article and follow from there...

"The Black Series's 2.82:1 rear axle is fitted, but without the auxiliary oil cooler-that car is intended for extensive track use, this one isn't."

I know you're excited about the car and so am I but chill out a lil...lol

Showtime,

Of course he was, Typical Lexus extremist. This car is still just a family sedan, its dynamics were not even remotely intended to compete with pure sports cars. Still this car is the BEST IN ITS CLASS. Thats all he needs to know.

Impressive. Very impressive. Looks like this thing was actually made to handle, unlike the C32 and to an extent the C55.

so who cares if BMW has better handling or the Toyota IS-F has better reliability, I will get the C63 AMG not because of reveiws but because I like the damn car, its exactly what I want from a car, and no bmw will ever be faster than me, cuz i will never take it to the track :)
