Rolls-Royce bought at auction for $1.6 million

Back in January of 2007 Raymond Lutgert, a real estate developer, cashed out $2 Million for a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe becoming the very first owner of the luxurious convertible. Well now someone else with a lot of money has bought the car at a charity auction for £800,000 ($1.6 million). The bid was made at the 9th Annual White Tie to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

oh man, I don't know what people like about the still old styled Rolls, and pay so much for them.

The only Rolls I ever really liked a lot was the one they made back in the fifties with the single headlights and I think that Rolls styling has gone downhill ever since. The current Rolls is too boxy looking and the teak deck on this newest drophead is totally tastless. I'd rather have the current Bentley Arnage than the current Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Buy a finely detailed zinc diecast model in the meantime and put it on your desk. It's a lot cheaper to puy a picture or a model than the real thing.
