If he was dissapointed with the M3, wait until he drives the Lexus IS-F!

The Lexus IS-F will surpass the M3 in driving dynamics. The testers won't be dissapointed.

You better wait! I mean the new M5 (manual) is overheating like crazy (read edmunds review against the RS4-rs4 wins. Maybe the new M3 will come perfect, maybe it will come like the 335i, without an oil cooler.

I love the carbon fibre roof but can you not get a sunroof? Is there a steel roof/sunroof option?

Oh, that presenter had an awesome personality.

I've been wondering the same thing about the sunroof. The carbon fiber is cool and everything, but I'd gladly trade a bit of weight for a sunroof. Maybe that's where a 335i comes in with a turbo boost.

Sunroof, on a sportscar? Why would you want to put more weight on top of an M3?
If I would buy this car I would want it to perform as good as possible when it comes to handling. Not extra weight were it doesn't belong.

Magnum,
Yeah it would add weight to the car but how could I live in Los Angeles without a sunroof?! But, I'm sure I could get used to it somehow.

0-62mph 4.8secs? where is all that power going? not to mention ify design compared to slam dunk e46 m3 design. I think competition finally caught up with bmw. I dont think bmw has to worry about toyotas and hondas, but c63 just seems like a beast and audi keeps on getting better. only if amg made manual transmission cars, it might be the dooms day for m3. I am sure m3 has more upper end power to use at higher speed but it still lacks something magical with the recipe it had with e46. I think bangle and smg did it. I don't think clarkson can make this car exciting. I think he would like e46 csl back.

Just wait and see when this car is out there. You need some real life test (1/4mile, etc) to tell if it's really 4.8 seconds 0-62 or better. It can be a little better. It's true that the new AMG C class is outstanding, and will probably kick M3's ass for good, but we don't know that. YET! BMW is very slow bringing this new M3 to life. I mean, it's been over 7 years already since no changes to the model! Maybe 8 by the time we will get it in States.

maybe one day people on this board will realize that a car's greatness is not simply measured in its 0 - 60 time. If thats the case, we might as well be talking about muscle cars all day long.

sorry to pick on this person, but you 'it still lacks something magical with the recipe it had with e46' huh ? i'm sorry, did you do a comparison for yourself?

i'm sure when the next model comes out you are gonna say the same thing.

this car will probably hit 60 in less than 4.5 sec easily, probably might even hit 60 in 4.1. Look at the 335i both coupe and sedan, testers have put up 4.8 secs while BMW conservatively states 5.5 secs, a .7 second difference, now imagine an engine with 30% more power, more torque, and all the M goodness. This car will be ridiculously fast and handle well.

psst news flash... these cars are still in pre-production mode. Last time I checked, the M3 has not made an actual debut in any country. Also, 0 - 62 time is ALWAYS Conservative with the Premium manufacturers. BMW has in their Brochuere for the 335 coupe a 0 to 60 time of 5.3seconds. When is the last time you saw or read any article that had the car performing at that level? I havent seen a single one.
