Toyota jumping from 8th to 6th is quite notable, I'd say...

Toyota never claimed to be the biggest automotive company via revenue.

Its through vehicles produced.

This is amazing considering that GM has to pay billions upon billions on retired employee benefits. Toyota does not have that burden, also GM has to pay UAW employee pay which Toyota does not.

The majority of Toyota sales are cheap econo boxes and main reason Toyota is #1 with vehicles sold, but not in revenue.

KEEP THE BLOODY REVENUE

WHAT ARE THE GROSS / NET PROFIT FIGURES FOR BOTH COMPANIES FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS ?

I think you will be silenced by those figures.

LOL!

just as toyota squeezes far more miles out of each gallon of gas than the typical gm guzzler, toyota also squeezes more PROFIT out of their revenues.

toyota is "only" no. 5 behing gm's no. 1 in revenue. yet toyota makes more PROFITS than ALL other car companies put together!

not only do they have smarter engineers, their CFOs and bean counters are smarter too!

Porsche is the most profitable car company.

True Thierry, but Porsche is still very small compared to Toyota and has created a great niche for itself. Can't believe how much they are borrowing to buy the majority stake in VW.

Hey SoCal..only retards resort to name calling on here. Thanks for clarifying that you are retarded.

I just love the end of that article about oil companies taking most ofthe Top 10 spots....ARRRgh!
