Mercedes working on 3 new compact cars

Earlier this month reports emerged that claimed Mercedes was planning to drop the A-class compact after the current model’s lifecycle ends in 2011. Now, further confirmation that the A-class may be dropped has surfaced, which also purports that it could in fact be replaced by a family of three new variants based on the next-gen B-class.

If Mercedes really did rob Chrysler blind then that would only partially offset the tens of billions they lost on the Chrysler fiasco. I just hope that Mercedes does not price their cars and parts out of existence in an attempt to recoup these losses.

It doesnt say it will be badged as a Mercedes. Maybe a Smart? Youre all assuming. Keep in mind that the smart is built by Mercedes and it is what you may call an "econobox"

You're only "buying a Toyota" if the Lexus is an actual rebadged Toyota model.

Otherwise, it's like saying "you have an S-Class? you really just bought a C-Class, its the same car". No its not. Just the same, a Lexus LS is not a Toyota Corolla.

M53R is correct. The ES is a FWD car just like the Camry. I'd rather have the Avalon as bulldogz suggests.
