New photos of the 2005 Cadillac STS

Here are some great press photos of the 2005 Cadillac STS.

Auto Spies perspective: We think the car is OK but we think they should have gotten more radical with the design ala the new Chrysler 300c and Dodge Magnum. Looks like GM/Cadillac doesn't subscribe to the Tampa Bay Lightning theory "Safe is death".

If it was up to us, we would have used the sixteen concept body as the inspiration.

I think Cadillac is making a smart move keeping this car in line with the looks of the brand, as the look seems to be popular. Additionally, radical design changes for cars near this price range have backfired for companies with loyal owners like BMW (5-series) that buy the same model car because they like the looks and other features. Keeping the bent-body look from the Seville and the good looks of the other Caddy models I think will pay off for Cadillac and help steer them back into the mainstream in the luxury sedan segment.

At least it looks like the rest of the caddy line which ,finialy isn't too bad..maybe someone under 80 will buy it.... but ,can any one tell me why they insist on putting that big ugly light acrosss the trunks of there cars??? I just do not get it!!! (traveled PGH to LA to buy a spies discounted BENZ) TONY I

To me it looks like an enlarged CTS, with some areas reworked. Nice try, but it needs to be better for the $50K they're asking for it. The back looks especially nice, kind of Deville-esque. I agree that it should be more radical looking, but Caddy wants to keep that science and arts crap they started. They need to spend some time and money getting good trim and materials, instead of pulling them out of other parts bins.

Their angular design is not appealing.
