No end to cars getting bigger

Despite rising fuel prices, more congestion in major cities and tighter shopping center car parks, there seems to be no end in demand for bigger and more powerful models. Over the years, each model generation for many popular cars has on average grown over its predecessor to the point where some models need to be categorized into different vehicle segments.

Bigger is better, and I have always enjoyed a big car. You have more leg room, head room, and you can even throw your husband in the trunk.

Bigger isn't better; the right size is the best. A decade of macho advertising has somehow convinced the public that making 5-point turns in a parking lot in a huge cubic box is more comfortable and safe than simply choosing a reasonably-sized vehicle that holds all the people of the family. A compact or mid-size wagon often has more cargo room than the large sedan, and usually better passenger accomdations than big utility vehicles.

It's shocking how many people will drive a guzzling oversize land yacht 360 days a year just to avoid renting the XL vehicle they need the other 5 days of the year.

Thanks for that, but us Americans prefer large cars. Like I said bigger is better period.

Ummm...No BentleyGT, not all Americans prefer larger cars. I'd have to say that moto has the right idea here.
