The interior center dash looks like the bmw 7, I hope they eliminate that navigation thingy cause it looks hideous and more like a 7 copycat.

I'm delighted with the new S-class design as shown in the chatroom - why because I have become disheartened with MB (after reliability issues and poor customer service with three high end models, I won't touch their products again - and I want to see their competitors succeed).

MB you squandered your brand image in the US with cheap interiors, bad designs (like the M class) and poor reliability. Building this new S-class won't buy you time - it'll just use up more of your precious engineering dollars.

MB please continue to spend huge amounts on developing mediocre products and high performance / low sales vehicles, so that you run short of capital, and weaken MBs competitive position.

M-B has always been conservative in styling their S-class because their buyers at that price level are also conservative. I think M-B is probably smart keeping the design clean and conservative. BMW can take more chances with styling (not much though) their buyers respond with more emotion (passion) than M-B buyers (again, at the S-class level).
That said, M-B has to fix the quality issues; number one, cars that don't break continually, and two, higher quality look and feel interior materials. I believe they also need to improve body fit and finish, it's average at best.

Dear Charles, everyone can claim BMW is selling more, that's great! However, their profits are tanking because they have to sell at great discounts to get any of their new "Ugliest Driving Machines" off the dealer lots!

About the new S-Class, everyone is entitled to their opinions and people will compare it to the Hummer if they believe it strong enough. I think MB is going after the CLS look, which I like and is NOTHING like a Honda.

Just when BMW may finally realise people are getting majorly fed up with the Idrive Or it should be more like (Im Trying to drive but must completely take my eyes off the road to use simple functions most cars use BUTTONS!) Now Mercedes Benz is coming out with something similar. If I told you to jump off a bridge would you follow. Hay Mercedes wake up!!!! Bmw sales are off and you should be working on building a more desreable car that is reliable because Mercedes Benz was a car that was supposed to last 20 years. Now You are lucky of your lease runs out before you need something fixed. Nice car but not enough for me.
