Mercedes Sportcoupe to be renamed CLC, bows in at Geneva

Mercedes will label the next-generation of its C-class based Sportcoupe the new ‘CLC,’ and will present the car for the first time at next year’s Geneva Motor Show. Several prototypes have been spotted undergoing cold weather testing in Sweden recently, and reveal that the new model will share the same basic shape as the outgoing version.

"its mechanicals will be based on the previous C-class model in an effort to keep costs low,"

"There also reports that suggest the car will be built in Brazil rather than Germany."

More expensive and not built in Germany unlike the new C-sedan. BAD MOVE!

My least favorite Benz....not worthy of the three pointed star.

I have to admit, the previous C-class sportcoupe was rubbish. Not only to look at but to drive as well.

I've driven it 6 years ago with the 220 CDI engine, it was rubbish!

The facelift does improve it considerably...and it is not the worst Benz ever, nor the least deserving of the badge!

Those accolades belong to the old M class and old A class respectively.

Happened to stumble across your pictures from the Mercedes museum on the GM forum. Some beautiful cars there, such great heritage in car building. That T-80 Weltrekordwagen is incredible. :o

They should give it a hybrid drivetrain for North America.

bimmermike, I share your sentiments regarding caution when considering buying a German car that is made in a country whose manufacturing proceeses are not sufficiently advanced. Brazil's products should be boycotted until they regrow the rain forest they have already destroyed. We have "crimes against humanity" -- cutting down the rainforest is clearly a crime against the planet (and hence, indirectly, a crime against humanity). And yes, you are right in suggesting that Brazilian women are HOT.

It's like you've got a campaign against white people though! Everything you say is about how bad they are!

MB isn't losing it. They Lost it already. The only benzes worth considering are the models that cost over $70K.

I have to admit except for the C hatchback (or whatever you wanna call it) their designs are usually really good.
