BMW doesnt need a fancier logo, why does VW? You'd figure they would have considered that logic.

You have to wonder how many prospective Phaeton owners decided against the car because of the VW badge.

Then again, wasnt that the point of the Phaeton? To have it all without looking like you're flaunting it? Otherwise, there is no point in my mind.

Look how many people moved over to Lexus because of a new brand identity and logo when it still was a Toyota underneath it all...yes things are different now, but creating a new brand has helped Toyota move into a preceived upscale market...its all about marketing and branding...

Why don't they just give the Phaeton its own logo? I bet this would solve their dilemma.

Too expensive to make, I think.
Anyway the next Phaeton will be smaller (A6 sized) and less luxurious, with a price tag to match.

Why don't gave something more intersting like a picture of the lion or dragon like Peugot.

Peugot's logo is awesome. Too bad their cars are even less reliable than VW. It's been nearly 2 decades since they were sold in the states.

I dont think that they are considering another brand or spinoff, they are just refreshing their current logo. Remember, VW already has a premium counterpart - Audi.
