2009 Volkswagen Scirocco Spy Photos...The New VW Has Been Caught in the U.S.!

Volkswagen still remains uncertain about the fate of the new Scirocco in the U.S. First VW's U.S. operations stated that they did not want the car to come here because it would compete with the GTI. Shortly after, VW reported that no decision had been made about the fate of the car. Now there are spy photos of the car testing in California, which adds even more mystery to the situation.

The big grills are a trend that we will see a lotin the near future. It will make all cars look agressive, faster and sportier. Hell it will make even a Lada look faster than the Porsche GT2.

awesome - build it!!

There is a perfect spot in Vdubs lineup for this...the GTI only has around 200hp. This car would be slightly larger, and it should have around 250hp+ and try and get to 60mph sub 6 seconds.

Therefore it would run with the likes of the WRX and Mazdaspeed3 - whereas the GTI fails to fully compete with these two.

I suppose so. Basically the performance of an R32 w/o the AWD?

Actually...this could technically be the new "R32". As in, give it AWD and the same powerplant, less the GTI styling.

What do you guys think? Does anyone know what this thing is actually going to be??
