2008 CTS Will Begin at $32,245

Although leaked pricing information isn't the most compelling of posts, those of you that have been salivating over the new Cadillac CTS can start arranging your budget accordingly. A forum member over at Cheers and Gears acquired a full breakdown of the '08 CTS' pricing, and aside from the options, a few things deserve note.

First off, Cadillac will be nixing the 2.8-liter V6 in the standard model, instead offering the 255 HP 3.6-liter VVT V6 with a manual tranny and the 300 HP 3.6-liter VVT DI V6 with the auto 'box. Pricing for the manual starts at $32,245; while the automatic version will set you back $34,545. If you decide to go the all-wheel-drive route and prefer to stir your own gears, you can tack on an additional $1,900 to the base price, or $3,200 in automatic trim.

This car looks as if it's going to be fantastic. My only complaint about the previous one was the interior, and it looks like they fixed that this time around. Now if only I were in the market for a small sedan. Cadillac should put this much effort into the next STS.

What a stupid article, why did they cross line the 255 and 300 hps and left them there with the replaced values of 263 and 304?

The other question, why are there two flavors of the same engine, one VVT and VVT DI? Why not have the same engine that produces the 304 hps?

And lets hope the 304 is correct and it won't be replaced with another number again.

I expect a 3.6 V6 engine to produce more power than the Japanese 3.5 V6, maybe we should wait to see the rpm on these numbers.

And one more thing is missing in this new CTS, the push button start, that's becoming standard in all lexury cars, why is it still using an older technology or a regular key?

I have to say nice job on the new CTS, but Cadillac needs to catch up to the speed of its competitors from all aspects.

Nic and nac as much as you, but from what I can see, this is a solid contender! Some will lose in this segment because of this very car. HP number are important, and this new CTS's are more than adequate. All of the concerns of the previous model have been addressed, and let's see how the market responds. I'm ready to make my deposit!

Most cars in this segement has 300+ hp or close to 300 hp, except for Audi A4. Not only that the Audi A4 gen is getting replace probably with a 2 years with a stronger Engine for sure.

And I agree with Designer1, that it should have a push button start/off like it competitor. After all it a luxury car isn't it?

I think this CTS is just absolutely Gorgeous........it had alot of European design influence in it. I think it look better than the MB C-class and BMW 335i as well.

I would gave it a 9.5 out of 10 in both the exterior and interior design. I love the new headlights, it just absolutely gorgeous......

Now, the big question is:
How does it drive?
At the price they're asking (and the car is not inexpensive) it had better perform, and I don't mean just 0-60.
The handling had better approach the BMW 5 series or it'll be a big disappointment.

Formula1, here my ranking for look in this segment:
1st-Lexus IS and Audi A4, and Infiniti G37 tie
2rd-Acura TL
3rd-MB
and last place BMW 335i.
