Is VW Making The First Steps To Formula 1?
Volkswagen, announced that it will return to Formula 3 championship as a engine supplier.

Between 1979 and 1991 Volkswagen enjoyed a lot of success, winning 7 titles, with drivers like Michael Schumacher and Tom Kristensen. Its first engine will make the race debut at Nurburgring race track in September.

Mercedes-Benz currently supplies power plants to all the teams in the F3 championship excepting one, AM Holzer Rennsport, who are currently using an Opel engine. AM Holzer Rennsport is favourite to use Volkswagen’s new engine.

There are rumors that Audi/VW will join F1 by 2011 or 2012, when Porsche starts to re-enter the sports car Prototype category. But we will see how much of these rumors will come true.

I know Bernie Eccelstone has given 2011 F1 spec modification and regulation papers to VW/Audi.
