Audi RS4 Mind-Blowing Performance

The RS4 makes every journey enjoyable and its performance is mind-blowing.

The Audi feels special as soon as you press the start button. A great engine is at the heart of this car’s appeal. It fires into life with a delicious V8 rumble, and sounds good on the move as well – especially when you hit the Sport button. This sharpens throttle response, improves the exhaust note and also squeezes the side bolsters of the seat more snugly! However, even without it, the RS4 delivers muscular low-down grunt; its 430Nm torque figure is substantial. A power output of 414bhp puts it on a level footing with BMW’s M3. And while the Audi doesn’t have the mechanical hard edge of the BMW, we think it sounds just as good. It has a slick six-speed manual gearbox too, with an inertia-free drivetrain. The Quattro transmission gives excellent traction, of course, and also helps the RS4 be second only to the R8 in all-time driver’s cars from Audi. Through corners, there’s a suppleness to the suspension (fitted with an active set-up as standard) that does translate into a little body movement. There’s a touch of understeer near the limit too – but don’t be mistaken, it’s always incredibly involving to drive. Point-to-point pace on snaking B-roads is fearsome. Yet all this ability is also coupled to effortless day-to-day manners, too. The RS4 strikes the perfect compromise.

Don't worry, IS-F will revenge for M3 by killing RS4.

M3 has been killed by RS4, TWICE. Automatically out of contest.

and the M3 has been called better in at least two others, blah blah blah. "RS4 is better, M3 is better..." Aren't you all tired of having the same exact conversation, one that is completely pointless because people buy what they like anyway and there's no right or wrong and you can't prove or disprove either side? And at the end of the day you don't own either of them and aren't going to own either of them, and both are better than whatever you do/will own. Give it a rest already.

Let's just see how many times the IS-F gets killed by the competitors.. even more the M3.

By the way I'm still waiting on your argument that proves the IS-F will be better than the C 63 AMG, mr. Supra.

It was said IS-F will be tested by magazines in the coming August. Sit tight and wait. :)

these audi people are really trying to hard for one the m3 has not had a full test, or a REAL comparison test to anything. and if you count these little 1 page tests as the end all be all the new m3 has already beaten the rs4.....second who cares...third, again when a REAL COMPARISON TEST, is done than know one knows 'WELL ACCORDING TO OTHER PEOPLE" which car is better so stop clutching for straws

Hahah! So, when the Audi beats the BMW, it's not a real comparison test! But of course, with the "real" comparison tests, the M3 will win! I love your mentality!

When I first saw pictures of the new M3, I got very excited. I thought, "BMW didn't screw this one up." But now that I've read the reviews, I'm not even going to bother test-driving it. It's disappointing as a successor to such a great car, and the RS4 seems to have stolen some of that "magic" from BMW.

Lo and behold, the 335i is probably the better sport coupe right now. It may not have the push-you-back-in-your-seat performance, but that can easily be fixed with a turbo chip, and it's overall just a more enjoyable experience- so I've read. I am definitely going to drive the 335i, and there seems to be no reason to buy an M3, besides pure snob appeal.

I agree that the Audi RS4 is one of most beautiful sport sedan out there. And it had incredible performance but if you want Mind Blowing Performance, check out the Lambo Gallardo, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Veyron Bugatti.

I don't think anyone who buys an RS4 can realistically afford a $1.4 million dollar Bugatti Veyron... unless they already have one, of course.

funny, funny on average Audi owners have a higher income and higher level of education than BMW owners.

Probably because most BMW owners are ditzy high school blonde chicks blowing daddy's money while they can't tell right from left!

your comment's don't stop it seems.

Why in hell would they do that ? Their V8 is great, why would the old I6 stroked to 3.6 be better ?
Dont get me wrong, i love beemers I6 , but its just ignorant & stupid to say that its the V8 fault that the Audi wins comparison test? The audi also has a V8 dude...wake up

Actually, I read an article on here where the 335i crushed the RS4. I that was based on a test by Car and Driver, not some obscure rag.

Puh-leeze. I own an RS4 and consider it overhyped. If you don't know how to drive, then Quattro is you friend, but it waists power and adds weight. The handling is still understeery and the car is badly balanced on braking. I find it is also terribly geared and if you shift below 6000rpm you tend to fall out of the power band, so in everyday driving it feels slow (relatevly speaking of course.) Also the engine has terrible direct injection whine and sounds like a cross between an industrial washing machine, a supercharged blender and a late 80's neutered Camaro.

I just can't believe all the hype the car got, but it might be due to the fact that all older fast Audis were just rubbish and this one looks so good next to them.

stop with your bullshit, you dont own an RS4 and never drove one, I know alot of RS4 owners and talk to alot on a daily basis , and not one has ever said anything negative about it.

now all of a sudden you own one. Please leave this site. Yeah I already have a new M3 , its sucks, hows my credibility?

Im just laughing hard when i read peoples statements here. People obviously thinks that Bmw suddenly stoppped making great cars because Audi finaly started making decent handling cars..
And if some audi wins in a comparison test in their favorite rubbish magazine, Beemer is on their way to hell. haha..dream on kids, BMW is there to stay, get used to it or shut up.

School starts again for you. Next year you go a full day and learn the recorder right?

The RS4 is an awesome car. Mean looks, mean performance. Pity I can't afford it.

Luckily, Audi's depreciate faster than bimmer's so it may be my choice in the second-hand market.

Based on dynamics, the IS-F will probably compete better with the C63, although the Benz will beat it in horsepower.

What kills me is that Infiniti/Nissan should drop their new twin turbo GTR motor in a G-car and start competing in this segment. They would (according to the automotive press) be behind the game in terms of lux/fit finish/refinement, but the Infiniti G is the closest alternative to the bimmer driving dynamics.

I'm hoping to see Nissan join this crowd by the end of the decade...and I'd bet most of you would like to see what they're capable of bringing to the table. Competition makes this industry more exciting.
