An interesting fact about the 300c

When the Chrysler 300c was released, all the experts at the mags, predicted that Chrysler would have a hard time selling the $35K+ HEMI version...

As usual, they're wrong again!

The take rate for the loaded HEMI is over 45% of all the units being produced.

What they forgot to realize, is that EVERYONE is STARVING for a GOOD large American sedan.

Though the 300C may put Chrysler back on the map, its underpinnings FAR outweigh its looks. The car rides on an E-series chassis (a killer chassis I know since I drive a 2003 version of the E-500) with a well-proven engine under the hood. So far so good.... But it looks like a small brick on top of a larger one with a hideous Mac truck grill out front. As a matter of fact, the Mac truck looks better coming at ya.

BUT, I do have my eye on the new Magnum. It makes no pretenses about what it is--a station wagon! I wouldn't drive an SUV if you gave me one AND paid for the fuel. Today's minivans, well, they're minvans for heaven's sake!

Bottom line, I feel the same way about the 300C as I do about the 5-series Bimmer. I would love to drive it as long as I didn't have to look at the exterior.
