So which car would you buy with YOUR hard earned money?

OK, the new M5 is out and it's hot!

But so is the new CLS55!

They both have their pros and cons but there really is only one question...

If you had to choose today, which one would you buy with your hard earned cash?

Feedback to us below and make sure you include the reason WHY you would pick one or the other.

The two cars are in the ring and the bell has just rung!

Who is going to win?

Happy blogging!

My money would have to go on the CLS. It and it alone reminds me of the pre war mercedes! Disconnect? No,not really, they have that droppy yet elegant look that is the freshest styling in a very long time!!

Definitely the M5, the MB is too droopy looking, weird looking car. M5 is more aggressive and crisper looking. You're most likely stuck with a slushbox in the MB, unless you're over 70 get the Bimmer.

I get what I pay for ... performance, style, class, luxury.

M5 is plain UGLY, the controls and electronics are way overdone and complicated. While some compromise and force themselves to get used to "the look" ... I rather take the better car which I have no complaints about.

both the cars are good looking.mb does not provide any free maintaince on my2005,i am not sure bmw is doing the same.
the only difference it will make is the service department.if they(service ) are willing to that extra mile of possible pick up ,provide a loaner ,clean the car after the service,it will win over my hard earned money.

To Autospies:

Of course I'd take the M5. The CLS is an unproven new model from the masters of unreliability - Mercedes.

So which car would you buy with YOUR hard earned money? Mercedes CLS55 over the BMW M5. Why? I'm not especially fond of the CLS55's look or design, but the current BMW 5 is downright ugly.

According to J.D. Power and Associates, styling is the Number 1 reason why a potential car buyer will not buy a specific model. It's above reliability, durability, suitability, brand stigma, and other criteria.

If the 5's exterior was drop-dead gorgeous, people might be more inclined to overlook it's quirky iDrive and possibly even forgive the interior styling as well.

Interesting Note: Some people actually *prefer* those sorts of dogs that other people think are ugly. These people are, however, in the very small minority. Ditto for people who love the Pontiac Aztec, and those who feel the current BMW 5 is a beautiful car.
