Chevrolet’s future plans, new Impala, Corvette and minicar

Chevrolet is one of GM’s most successful brands at the moment but that’s not stopping execs from significantly refurbishing its lineup over the coming years. The major model changes will be the introduction of a new RWD Impala, a new minicar and crossover, plus the long-awaited arrival of the Camaro.

Despite fears of tightening mileage standards, GM is pushing ahead with plans for a RWD successor to its Impala. The new car is due by 2010 and will be built off GM’s new Zeta platform, which will also spawn the Camaro. Both cars will be assembled at GM’s Oshawa plant in Ontario.

The Camaro is a step in the right direction. The Impala is a white-trash POS, the vette is great, and of course the silverado is class-leading. Chevy suffers from some rather hideous designs, even more hideous interiors, and IMHO a logo that is as cheap looking as a 60 yr old whore on a dollar day sale.

Having that said, they are making the best cars they have ever made. GM desperately needs people to see that, because it is true.

their malibu is horrible. the back looks like the old diamonte from mitsu and a maserati qp. at least the camaro, vette and silverado are in great strides.
