I think the Tundra is the second best truck money can buy, behind the Sierra/Silverado. The Dodge is crap, but I call shenanigans!!!!! The dodge driver spun the wheels, making it easy to pull. They both weigh about the same, so if he is slickin out the wheels, then even a Colorado or Tacoma could pull it.

This proves nothing.

The heavier truck did win, not to mention that the static coefficient of friction for tires is higher than the kinetic. The Ram was burning out, the Toyota was not... Dont get me wrong, I think the Ram is a piece of crap but this movie is like one of those made for tv product advertisements... "Has this ever happened to you?" ...lady chops her finger off, "well not anymore! Introducing the plastic knife! It will cut through solid brick while not harming delicate skin!"

OK, so, if you put an engine that was "just enough" to turn the truck's wheels in the Dodge's engine bay, made sure it weighed 500 lbs more than the Tundra, and performed the same test, the Dodge would win the tug of war?

Providing I am on a road with grippy shoes and not on grass with bare-feet, I would pull him. I have strong legs. I take it that you are no athlete and have never seen a strong-man competetion. How the HELL do they pull piggy-backed semi-trailers? I am SURE that those trailers wheigh more than a mere mortal!

OK, so, you take the wheels off the semi-trailer and what do you have? A several-thousand pound object sitting on steel drums against asphalt.

Test the trucks individually and then get back to me.

Tundra wins on looks alone. The Mercedes Ram didn't stand a chance...

I didn't know RAM is a Mercedes. If it is, hands down, it will definitely win all test, I mean it's a Mercedes against a Toyoyoyta? There is no comparison, MB will always win.

That's true...stops it spinning its wheels while distributing torque evenly.

Dodge Ram is in dire need of a redesign.
The new Tundra completely blows it out of the water.
The only thing the Ram beats the Tundra in is IMO the styling.

lool you Toyota haters, its doing nothing to you but killing you inside out, so go a head and say what ever you want, the truth is infront of your own eyes. ;-)

One more thing to add. I just noticed this, the Tundra looks like its the 4.7 VS, you can see the silver ONLY tag on the side or the front fender. The 5.7 is red.
So if this is true, then there's an even bigger laugh here on dodge. lool

that is what I was thinking as well, and if you notice they never show the front end of the dodge(could have possibly had another truck pushing it), another issue with this little experiment is the fact that the dodge is obviously not a brand new truck look at the tail lights, it could be a early production 5.2L which would be seriously underpowered...

i have a dodge, i love it, im staying with dodge, and there is no one who will even get me to even test drive a toyota and think about buying it, even if someone paid me to buy it, and if u look, all comercial, buisness trucks are chevy, gmc, ford, or dodge, srry but i dont like toyota at all!!!!
and i think toyotas are awd when dodge trucks are 2wd and 4wd

Well, first of all, the video is clearly fixed in the toyota's advantage. I very much agree with some of the comments above about the "model, engine size, and other things such as a "peg-leg" rear axle on the Dodge. The toyota clearly had some sort of traction assist, or was in 4 wheel drive (if it is a 4x4), and the Dodge was clearly not locked in. I suspect a 4.7 liter Dodge engine to the toyota's 5.7 liter. And, Mr. lexusis350, take the crewmax toyota and put it against the Dodge 2500 w/cummins, because almost equally equipped (the Dodge has more options included), the toyota will cost you $46,941 not including the destination charges, and the Dodge will cost you $46,000 including destination charges. So, I would say they are very comparable to each other. Except that the diesel Dodge 2500 is more truck than the gas burning toyota crewmax. All the hype on the toyota's abilities is based on the top of the line crewmax, which can reach $60,000 dollars if you want it too. This is something that they fail to mention in the Tv ads. Compare equal trucks, and I think you will find things a little bit closer. More especially if you compare a 2008 or 2009 Dodge with the toyota. You must remember toyota fans, toyota waited for everyone else to build their trucks, and then took the best things from ALL of them and built their on truck. Now the competition will respond.
