I've owned 2, BMW 3 series, 2 Audi A6 Turbo, 1 Benz... currently on my 3rd Infiniti... an M35x. All the cars were nice, including this one.

Forgot to add what I like... Hmmmm... this model is still sort of sporty, though less than the Bimmers and A6s... but it's a good balance of "enjoyable to drive" and "comfortable cruiser". It's roomier than the others and the fit/finish is equal to the Audi.

For 2008, the M45 (V8) will have an "x" option.. all wheel drive.

I drive a 03 540I Sport... love it, absolutley love it. I have no complaints. But i dont drink in my car, if you see where i'm going with the C holder issue.

Thinking i might upgrade to a 545 soon, Bangle butt or not , i love the new 5.

Look this is pointless. The late Sam Walton drove a pick -up most of the time. To some a sports car is nothing but a overpridced two seat no trunk silly car, other's think a 4 door bench seat Mercury is their cat's meow?
To try out another brand of car to prove to yourself your loyalty to your old car was dumb and you have been fooled all these years doesn't happen by a test drive of a BMW or anything else. Most people are very loyal to their brand car and drive what they belive is their dream machine.
My neighbor just bought a MX-5 he can afford a Porsche easily but he likes Miatas, he never went to a Porshe dealer to try to talk himself into another brand, he is comfortable with Mazda?

My daily driver 1984 240 Turbo Volvo. It has 230k miles on the chassis & 12k on the rebuilt (B230ET) "monster" engine. Most reliable car, most fun, easiest to tune & mod, and mainly just a simple box that smothers cars worth 45k more. Of course many of you guys more than likely would say it’s design is crap, boring, ridiculous, and so on. But I must say hey we all like CARS… ?
There is no way I could be stuck to one brand of car, maybe I am weird but there is more to life then worshiping a “Brand.” After owning a 2004 VW R32. Which is one of the most over looked cars. I really liked the car but the lease was up and I had to give it back. So I went back to my trusty ‘ol Volvo. Recently I had the privilege of driving my Father-in-laws 1997 (15th Anniversary Ed.) Toyota Supra TT. I love this car. It still is a killer buy in todays automobile market.
I do not own a Lexus nor would I "hate/flame" on any Lexus or any brand. But Lexus does have more RWD cars than any US manufacture which says something... What people need to do is open there eyes on the Car industry! Like what you like and keep some things to yourself. IF you seem to think you have a point. Maybe think of a way to word that comment so it does not turn you into a FANBOY!

1987 e30 BMW 325e which has been super reliable. After over 3 years, nothing has broken, never let me down.
Also 1985 e23 BMW 745i turbo. 16PSI of boost, Very fast, and a rarity here since these were never sold in the United States. Very comfortable, great handling for a heavy car. Lots of features. Heated seats, 3 psoition memory seats, power reclining back seats, water buffalo hide rather than regular cow hide leather, on board computer, lots of features for such an old car and blows the doors off of every 4 door I know of save for a M5, RS4 or AMG. Beat A GTO one day, but don't get me wrong I don't race it on the street, although I have had it to over 150

Currently drive 2000 LS400. I've owned 3 previous models LS400, SC400, BMW 740iL and, S430, Jaguar XJK, Acura RL, and yes some stincking Ford and Chevies when I was in college.

I've driven many others of course. I go to where my money is worth and no doubt the Lexus has won my decisions always.

Currently not doing that well financially but I would be looking into a newer Lexus model, probably the GS350.

If Mercedes brings the Vision C220 Bluetec to North America, I'll probably buy it but they better hurry as my lease is up in May 2008. Hey I had a 1983 240D too. It was my very first car ever, and my father restored it for me. Slow as molasses but I'll always remember it.

I sold the 240D when I bought the 300D. Boy what a rush of power that change was! Modern diesels are so fast though, it's just silly.

I curently drive a 2007 BMW 550i and a 2008 Lexus RX 350. In the last 3 years I have also owned a BMW 545i and a 2005 RX 330. Before buying the BMW I tested a BMW 330,a Mercedes E350 and a lexus GS 300--no comparison with with th BMW 5 series. As for reliability goes; the Lexus GS and RX is on par with the BMW. But, if you want real relibility you buy the Lexus ES or LS (read consumer reports). I will give up some reliability for the sheer fun of driving and no existing sedan matches a BMW in that category!

Forgt to add that I'm looking forward to the BMW 135 witha turbo boost kit!!!

2006 Lancer EVO MR- If you think you can drive, you need to check this out! I want one so much, but don't want to get rid of the E36.

Biggest Disappointment:
Audi RS4- Yeah it is nice, but it is so refined versus the EVO.

BMW dropping LSD's from its lineup. Did you know Z4's did not have LSD's?

Nice thing to say about Lexus:
The NAV is great. I hear Acura is better, but I haven't driven one. Actually I have, TSX but I was so upset by the uncomfortable seating position that I was in no mood to play with the NAV.

Another Gripe: What happened to SUNROOFS?
If I wanted sun shining in my face, I would open the metal sunroof, I don't want a glass moon roof. Who wants these silly things. the interior cover robs the car of more precious headroom. Porsche is the only car I can think of in this market that still offers SUNROOFS. Can I get an AMEN??

"AE86" No LSD's? What you expect this isn't the 60's anymore! You know, I don't think cars ever came with LSD, they just came with the horsepower to get you to the street corner where the LSD is sold.

Though cars do come with LED lighting, which are similar only by sound & initials. The Z4 & 3-series both have LED lighting rods in the taillights.

All manual. I've never owned an automatic and don't plan on it anytime soon. The Infiniti was my all time favorite. I'm only 23, and I paid for every cent of each one of these cars myself. That's why you're not seeing an $50k bimmers...but my new 'speed3 (only had her a month) is about the best performance you can buy for $25k.
