Mazda will deliver Rotary Hydrogen vehicle to Japan’s METI

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that the company is to deliver one dual-fueled RX-8 Hydrogen Rotary Engine (RE) vehicle to Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) on August 1, 2007. The dual-fuel system enables the driver to select either gasoline or hydrogen fuel with the flick of a switch. METI will use the RX-8 Hydrogen RE in its daily operations.

This my dear fanboys, is the future of automotive fuels. I foresee a hybrid hydrogen fueled future for all vehicles in 20 years.

BMW has led the way, Mazda is obviously on-board, and quite soon all makes will be doing this.

Hybrid technology must evolve into something else.

The goal here is "sustainability" and independence from oil producing nations that are terribly unstable.

I agree 100%. Hydrogen is the future. The only true renewalable energy source. Sweeden already has an entire network of fueling stations set up on a highway. Unfortunately our government continues to feed the oil machine.

China will be slow to make the change. Once the US finally gets its act together, China will no doubt still be sucking down oil. 75-100 Years from now the middle east will crumble without their miracle funding.
