Is Mercedes 'out-doing' the 3-series with the next C-class?

One of our readers was cool enough to do some spywork and share these pictures of the supposed next-gen MB C-class from Car magazine.

It looks pretty impressive to us, especially the interior.

By the way, if you only can afford on mag subscription, they are BY FAR the best print car mag out there...

See the pics in the blogs below...

The Pro's :
It doesn't have i drive
It's nicer than the current C class

The Cons:
Looks like a 5 series mated with a Honda Accord
Dull interior

Verdict : The German auto makers are slipping and now Mercedes has joined the party .

I thought the first pic was of the new Saturn Ion. Seen the pics of the next-gen 3 series??? It's going to be beautiful. This new C-class will be just like every other M-B: fat, bloated, soft, and plagued with quality gremlins. Jeez, I'll even go out on a limb and guess that there will be an AMG variant with *gasp* forced induction, since DCM doesn't have the engineering know-how to build a high-performance, normally aspirated engine. The day this C class "eats into 3 series sales" is the day people under 50 stop buying cars.

Jt. agreed. I seriously doubt that the new C-Class is going to be a serious player in this arena. The C has never been a serious performer (save the C32 at over 50k). However, I have yet to see reliable photos of the next generation 3 series. I've seen atleast four different iterations. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
