Toyota's first NASCAR win

Toyota's first NASCAR win
CLERMONT, Ind. -- Jason Leffler's second career NASCAR Busch Series victory was much more memorable than his first.

Leffler took the lead from Greg Biffle with two laps to go in the Kroger 200 on Saturday night and raced to his first Busch win in three years -- and Toyota's first victory ever in the series.

Biffle led in lap 191 before a caution brought the field together at O'Reilly Raceway Park. Leffler took the lead in lap 197, then jockeyed with Biffle for a while before finishing strong.

"This is a lot more exciting to come to the end like that, beating and banging and doing those slide jobs," said Leffler, whose last Busch win came June 12, 2004 in the Federated Auto Parts 300 in Nashville.

He said he expected one of the Toyota drivers, including David Reutimann, Mike Bliss and Dave Blaney, to eventually win. Reutimann finished third and Bliss placed ninth.

Congratulations Toyota.

I would like to see a victory in F1 too. (It's not impossible as last year hungry GP was won by Jensen Button, Honda).

All the best

I believe Toyota Tundra has been dominating in NASCAR Truck Series for years.

So this should be the first win for Camry, the American best selling car. ^0^

Nothing happens over night, Toyota worked hard and it dominated the auto industry, now its new in NASCAR and F1 racing and someday it will also dominate these fields, as that's how its path has been and hopefully it will remain.

what are you talking about? they won a busch race and now they are dominating the busch series. huh? Talk to us when they win a Nextel cup race, then some congrats are in order. right now this is just a golf clap ...

Designer, the only thing Toyota has ever dominated at is selling cars to people who don't have an education good enough to afford a better than mediocre car, thats what their specialty is. Mediocre at best, don't fool yourself. Dependable mediocrity, thats it and thats all!

"Rednecks" that buy cars and trucks based off of NASCAR races. Maybe you'll learn a little about marketing before you finish school?

Marketing.... maybe Toyota should consider changing the Toyota name to a more Americanised name before selling cars and trucks to the rednecks. The last time I checked, Toyota is still doing poorly with its trucks in the Southern states.

they didnt win in a nextel cup race yet. hold your horses. Actually, have they even finished in the top 10 this year in a nextel cup race? I didnt think so. The busch series is a nice win, but let me know when they win a nextel cup race.

Ring me up when BMW actually participates in NASCAR, a race that determines true quality engineering.

Why is it that nascar fans all have tires on their house, marry their sisters, all have 2 digit IQ's, big foreheads and long criminal records? Because they like it that way!

toyota trucks used to OWN off road racing for almost two decades.

"Ironman" Stewart, running just v6 toy trucks, embarrassed all v8 competitors and simply DOMINATED that arena.
