Fiat planning Abarth only models?

Abarth was an Italian racing aut maker founded by Austrian Karl Abarth in Turin in 1949. In the 1960s Abarth enjoyed a successful run in races against the Porsche 904 and the Ferrari Dino, winning the 500km Nurburgring in 1963.

The Abarth name and tuning division was sold to Fiat in 1971, while the racing team was sold to Enzo Osella. Ever since then, we have yet to see a true Abarth only model. Well that’s about to change. According to Caridisiac, Fiat could be producing an Abarth only model lineup...

If Fiat can work something out to bring an Abarth-only range, this would be more of a reason for me to move to Europe.

Abarth is an old respected name that car afficionados drooled over half a century ago. Most young folk in North America never heard of it.
