Smart decided to introduce an electric version of its Smart ForTwo which will be powered by a 41 bhp electric engine capable of 70 mph and a 70 mile range. The electric car charges in 8 hours, and according to Smart engineers it consumes less than $3 worth of electricity.

This article was confusing. So is it an electric or a hybrid? The first paragraph talks about something reminiscent of the EV1 and the second starts talking about a hybrid.

if you look at the title of the article at the very top --- it says "Electric and Hybrid Smart ForTwo on its way"
