2009 Toyota Corolla Details Including New Engines
The new 2009 Toyota Corolla should go on sale in early 2008, according to Automotive News, and we'll get our first look at the car this November at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. There will be quite a few changes, most noticeably a new "edgier" design. But when we take a look under that racier hood, we're likely to see even more changes. The newest Corolla will reportedly feature Toyota's new family of 1.8-liter engines, which should first show up in the 2008 Scion xD.

2.4L? I thought they would use the 150hp 2.0L with valvetronic.

Looks like Toyota play conservative card again without bringing v6 Corolla over the sea.

I thought Valvetronic was a BMW thing?

How could I make such a mistake. ^0^ Valvematic is far more superior than valvtronic.

Why would Toyota ofer a 6 cylinder in the Corolla when they offer a 4 cylinder in the Camry?

Because Toyota has one already, a 276hp v6 Corolla hatch.

Lets have a vote as to what is the ugliest Toyota sedan; the Camry, the Corolla or the Yaris!

I vote for the Yaris, but the Corolla may give it a run for it's money.

Yup to Toyota, the USA is a fuel sucking pick up truck land, that turned to hybrids, diesels and small sedans. We wont see that V6 Corolla anytime soon :/.

To STJ88: I vote the Toyota Chaser JZX100 model.
