Hybrid Sales skyrocket in Canada


Until 2004, sales totalled less than 1,000 a year. In the two-year period between 2004 and 2006, annual hybrid sales leaped 300 per cent to just under 9,000.

In the first half of this year, hybrid volumes jumped to about 6,500, which represented a 90 per cent increase from the same six months in 2006.

percentages are huge because the volumes are tiny. 6500 cars in country of more than 30MM is not significant.
