Hyundai Struggles OverSeas as Toyota Thrives

Hyundai Kia Automotive is struggling overseas as its performance worsens in China, its key international market. Meanwhile Korea's overseas rival Japan has been selling significantly more cars in Korea.

While Hyundai maintained its performance in the first half of the year in the U.S., it dropped 11.5 percent in Europe and plunged 15.8 percent in China compared to the same period last year. Only India saw an increase of 11 percent. In the U.S. Kia recorded 4.8 percent growth for the first half, offering a bit of comfort to contrast the generally sluggish performance of Korean carmakers. Hyundai did particularly badly, as the only major carmaker to report declining sales in China. Car sales in China are expected to grow about 20 percent this year.

Now if this were "Toyota Struggles OverSeas as Hyundai Thrives" there would be 50+ comments on how Toyota's "looking more and more like GM" by now...

But honestly 009, you could have come up with a more violence-inciting title to get more attention than this. Maye one of your rhetorical question bombs like "Toyota worried about Hyundai's Struggling OverSeas Market?" or something else along those lines, perhaps something even that makes more sense than my suggestion...

I think this is one of 009's "pro-Toyota" headlines. He needs those for the inmevitable arguments that will come up the next time he writes, "Toyota is Revealed by Car and Driver to be the Anti-Christ" or "Hyundai Topples Lexus Again."
