Another look at the potential 7-series refresh

One of our readers sent this to us this week.

It's another 'supposed' take on what the re-freshed BMW 7-series will look like.

There are so many conflicting rumors circulating...basically in two camps.

One camp says the refresh will be minimal (small bumper changes, new iDrive software) and the other says the changes will be more radical.

This photo suggests radical and we actually like it.




We're going to take a gamble with all that we've heard and say the re-fresh needs to be radical.

Why?

Because they've had about 2.5 years to play with it. And, I think they know deep down that if it is minor, it will have mediocre results.

Especially, with the new S-Class around the corner.

And trust us, when that baby hits, BMW and the others won't know what hit them.

It will rock the entire car world.

This looks like an extended Infiniti G35. Just look at the front looks EXACTLY the same and the back door window looks like it as well. The wheels look like its taken from Audi's concept cars

Autospies you say that BMW won't know what hit them when the new Merc S Class rocks the entire car world. Well here are several ways it will rock the car world:

(i.) More calls for recalls of the new Merc than California under Gray Davis
(ii.) Record numbers of traffic snarl-ups in LA caused by collapsing suspensions of the new Merc
(iii.) A price for the new Merc even Saudi Princes think is too steep
(iv.) More electrical problems in the new Merc than California customers had under Enron's influence

Could other readers suggest more reasons it will rock the car world - it would be good to have a top ten.

the rear was the ugly part of it ... other "bad design" areas were the iDrive and the bloated look of the car overall (not to mention the UUUUGLY front headlights ... ). I don't see the changes in those areas. Did they figure they change the sides, put on different wheels (those are great wheels but they are copied from Audi) and Shazaam?!?

It's still ugly!

Is it worth space on the Autospies web site to show and discuss what someone thinks the future may look like (based on nothing more than their own opinions)? Personally, I think it's more prudent to focus more on facts.
