JE Design's Audi Q7 upgrade to 500 hp from a supercharged V8.

The basic specifications of the 4.2-litre Audi Q7 do indeed make quite an impressive read. After all, 257 kW / 350 bhp, 440 Nm at 3500 rpm, a top speed of 151 mph and 7.4 seconds for the sprint from 0 - 62 mph are not exactly chicken feed. But JE DESIGN turns the Q7 into real high-flyer, with no less than 500 supercharged horses (368 kW) rearing and bucking under the hood. 600 Nm of torque, available at 3,850 rpm, propel this heavyweight from a standstill to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds. And it does not stop till it reaches an impressive 169 mph.

Audi outsells Lexus worldwide by a wide margin, and is close to Mercedes in sales numbers.

They used to suck 25 years ago but no more. They are very reliable now and their fit and finish is unmatched in any price range. Audi cars offer better value than Mercedes or BMW, and any rice burner I might add.

audi outsells due to their wide range thru-out the world. before 2006, Lexus was sold in 3 countries...USA/UK/Canada.

audi's are great vehicles, just a lot of electrical problems from some owners that i know. a friend of mine bought a new A4 1.8t in 2005 and in 3 months the backs window switches needed replacing. then the fog lights kept blowing out every couple of weeks. minor issues, but still an issue.

quattro's are fun to drive though!

I have owned four Audi models:

'00 A6 2.7T quattro

'98 A4 1.8T quattro (bought Certified Pre-Owned for my son)

'05 Audi S4 Cabriolet

'06 Audi A3 2.0T DSG

None of them have had any electrical problems. The S4 and A3 are still in my garage. I don't think that's any coincidence.

The Quattro in the A6 is unstoppable in the worst of winter storms. I drove one in a huge snowstorm North of Lake Superior and the officials closed the highway behind me -- it was that bad. Be careful about Audi's use of the brand Quattro -- it does not always promise a Torsen differential. The A3 has a cheaper Quattro with no Torsen.
