LoL. Sucks they prob have no lemon law in France. The guy was so pissed about his SL he gave up his ML as well (it says it didnt have problems. Theres a lot more to this story than the article explains.

Too bad a lawyer isn't suing Mercedes and requiring them to buy back every single R230 SL at full price...

If MB was sued for for mechanical problems they would go bankrupt. Why are some people suprised that MB is very unreliable?

I knew a lexus fanboy posted this article.

The ML didn't have any problems.
The SL was a lemon, every manufacturer has them, including Lexus.
Normally Mercedes-Benz do not have much problems (I've owned one and only had two minor issues)

What a terrible experience that person must have had. Those are the models that tarnished Mercedes' image for building a reliabile car (especially the ML). Thankfully, the recent models that Benz is putting out seem promising. Still, there's no excuse for paying that musch and recieving that kind of car.

What happen to German superority? what piece trash and waste of metal.

If you want realibility get Lexus or any other Japanese, they have best realiability. German brand need to work on their realiability issues, their cost so much freaking money, this shouldn't have happen.

WELL SINCE THEY ARE SO RELIABLE WHY ISNT THE STANDARD WARRANTY 8 YEARS 100,000 MILES INSTEAD OF THE AVERAGE 4 YEAR 50,000 MILES!?

This is one of the only times I'm using IM talk, with the exception of "LOL." Just for you, Lexus.

OMFG STFU WE DON'T NEED TO HEAR THAT CRAP ANYMORE!!! IT'S GETTING SO OLD!!!! THIS CAR WAS A LEMON!!!! USE YOUR HEAD!!!!

It was a lemon, every manufacturer has them. Do you honestly think every car MB produces is this unreliable. MB are working hard to improve their quality back to the level it was at in the early 90's before they started pumping money into Chrysler and having to cost-cut on their own cars.

Why would you post an article like this? We already know how much you hate Mercedes, why post an article of an individuals experience? It's one thing to post recalls because it shows a picture of general engineering or material deficiencies in a particular model which may be owned by an autospies member but one persons lemon is hardly a story worthy of note. I refer you to: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/lexus.html to find a bunch of similar stories of a brand you love just to give this page more childish "see, I'm right and you suck" attitude. I particularly like Geraldine of Healdsburg's story.

I think it's an interesting story regardless of who posted it and their motives. Mercedes nor Lexus is perfect.

XeroK00L, post a Lexus lemon article, then. That would improve your credibility, dramatically. Not to say Lexus makes unreliable cars, but as in how biased you are. To prove you're not, just do that.

No problems with my S550. In fact of the three past Mercedes' I have owned, I have never experienced any major problems as mentioned in "consumer reports". I can't relate to them.

Well I think its commonly known that the SL isn't very reliable at all (especially that model)... but this one is a lemon. It happens to everyone, including toyota and lexus.
