Ford hopes low Sync price will help sales
Ford is hoping that its $395 price on the Sync option for 2008 models will help boost sales for its Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brands. The Sync system, which was co-developed with Microsoft, offers connectivity with smart phones, mp3 players, USB flash-drives and other features.

The first car to get the Sync option will be the 2008 Ford Focus, followed by the 2008 Ford Edge, 2008 Lincoln LKX and the 2008 Explorer later this fall...

Read a little more about Sync before you type a stupid comment.

Sync works with I-Pods, Bluetooth phones, Zune and even laptop computers.

This is a major step forward and a product that will influence purchases.

The moment anything pushed by Microsoft is added to a vehicle, I head for the door.

guffwave is right, if automakers are that desperate to add electronic gadgets to their vehicles, then at least go with a company that consistently offers reliable products. There's a reason that the iPod and the iMac are phenomenal successes, whereas the Zune and Vista just suck.

People should not be running their office while driving a car. I do not think this one available option will boost sales for ford. Most likely when dealers order they will disregard this option. Ford needs to develop a better Focus to boost sales.
