Saab building new high-performance sedan

Saab will be showing a new “Turbo X” model of the 9-3 at the Frankfurt Motor Show designed to evoke the iconic Saab 99 and 900 ‘Black Turbos’ with visual tweaks and performance upgrades. Saab originally showed its first turbo model at the Frankfurt show in 1977, so this show will mark the 30th anniversary.

Rumors suggest the new model could be a 9-3 Aero XWD pumping out over 300hp from its V6 engine. Sadly, the hot Saab will be available as a limited edition only but we hope it could pave the way for a permanent high-performance model.

Too bad this car comes with the less spirited Haldex differential and not a Torsen.

It has Haldex Gen4...I believe it will be every bit as good as a Torsen in most driving conditions. Maybe not quite as good in rally-type conditions...but that's not 99% of most peoples driving.
