really like the looks of the GL...and love how the entire rear compartments folds totally flat for cargo.

Mercedes is best at making just about anything, just to think if Mercedes bought Lexus, there trucks would look, drive, and feel as good as the ML and GL.

He is probably right, though, as much as he is actually trying to troll.

It's too bad they decided to copy Audi with the extra deep front grill, as others are doing as well. Audi executes the "big mouth" design sooooo much better than anyone - that is because it was the original and usually copies try to mimic but deviate too much from the nice features and it ends up looking ugly. To make things worse for MB the front headlights look like they come directly from a Dodge pick-up. Sad.

Other than the front, it seems like a nice car but for handling, sportiness, and styling I would still take the Q7 anyday. Bring on the Q7 4.2 TDI!!!

The ML is still ugly! The shape of the rear is very hard to get used to. I'll spend the extra money and get the GL if I were in the market!

the huge grill reminds me of the cls and s class asma design. I hate it. Other than that, I think its a very fine SUV.

As bad as it looks on the MBUSA website, I'm really starting to warm up to the GL550's extroverted styling. 450 still looks more tasteful, but I think the 550's extra power is worth it.

Oh my god! I always considered the current line of Merc SUV to be very American in styling (just a little too much chrome here and there) but this time they have totally ruined it! That GL550 (not the same as the better-looking-but-still-big-and-American GL500 in Europe) is just horrid. To me it's obvious Mercedes is targetting the pimping market and black rappers because it has everything an Escalade has. A big ugly grill and big wheels. Very sad. Very un-Merc. But hey marketing = money.

I respect bigger is better, but this is just ridiculous.

It is very sad that you think Mercedes design a car to market black rappers. If you would do your homework, most Mercedes are purchased by middle class educated people that live in the burbs and are white. Black rappers are a small percentage of the market and Mercedes would go out of business depending on the rap industry. I worked for Mercedes-Benz Credit Corp. for sixteen years and most of the MB purchases were by business owners not ballers or rappers.

This is a pos just like the first ml320 back in 1998 it was supposed to be so great.What happen Remote keys didn't work electric fuel pumps were failing at a record rate.After selling a few at full sticker sales fell like a rock.The germans simply have no experence build SUV's the should stick to building sedans.
