50 for ML, 53 for GL.
pretty much what you'd expect for a luxury brand.

BMW leans younger than that.
lexus leans older.

Lexus is aimed for the average 82 year old driver. Most of them cant tell that its a Toyota anyway. Since everything is so soft, bouncy, and bloated when it comes to Lexus, it will be like driving a pillow padded power scooter crossing over train tracks.

I wouldn't say their 82 but majority are 50+ and those who are 60+ are probably retired and want a reliable cars that may last them for the remainder of their life and Lexus seems to be the choice. They may have fallen for the marketing from Lexus and I'm sure many are aware of the Toyota/Lexus relations.

I'm guessing the average age of a GL buyer is slightly lower and slightly higher than, um.....53; pure genius.

Of course the average age will be older, the cars cost too much for the younger population.

I presume these are target demographic markets, not the actual numbers. Those ages seem awfully low.

Male v. Female is very irrelevant though. I would say that 80% of GL and 70% of ML are driven by women. They are just bought by their husband.

I can see that...

I think it's more like 70% for the GL and 80% for the ML, because (at least in my eyes) the M-Class seems to be more of a chick car. GL has more masculine styling and a better image.

This is for USA obviously. Most of the ML and GL drivers I know here in Germany are in their early 30s to mid 40s.

Mmm. I would have guessed 16, since alot of kids on that MTV sweet 16th birthday show have gotten MLs and GLs.
