Chrysler To Employees - Don't Jump!

It appears that Chrysler's people are going through some level of anxiety now that private equity company Cerberus is in-charge (as of Monday) and has hired Robert Nardelli, a cut-throat industry outsider as the company's new CEO. The memo, written by Chrysler's Global Staff Manager Rita Riner, tells Chrysler's white collar staff not to seek jobs at Daimler, Mercedes-Benz, or Chrysler's Financial Unit.

It's always a challenge to keep the performers on board until the ship sinks or is dismantled for scrap. It's easier now because the whole domestic industry is under attack from imports and executives who made their career in domestic companies in a corporate culture that led to the fall of the domestics may be considered as "contaminated meat" and unemployable in winning segents of the industry.

Those who can jump ship or simply retire will do so notwithstanding Nardelli's best efforts to keep them on board until they are no longer needed.
