2008 Honda Accord Coupe Caught in the Wild!

2008 Honda Accord Coupe Caught in the Wild!
The upcoming Honda Accord sedan has already made a few public appearances in the buff, but its two-door sibling hasn't been caught in the same compromising position – until now. Although previous mules have been spotted sporting artfully applied camo, these newest shots finally give us the full Monty, with only the badges being obscured by color-matched tape.

It looks like a BMW 6 series from the front and the rear and a little on the side. Honda was never good in styling anyway.

Not really liking it, not very distinctive or eye-catching. Looks Americanized with those bulbous bumpers.

Man Honda really does need some design talent. They need to pay up and hire someone. I mean, the new Civic is great. This is like an Altima coupe that backed into a Mitsubishi. Uggh. They're better off when they just blatently copy something German. See the Acura MDX. ;-)

Who did the MDX copy? It looks more like Honda's own Pilot than anything else...

And I do agree that this looks like a Mitsu mated with an Altima coupe who got into it with the Chrysler 300's rear end.

@ M35MT - The new MDX is very FX35 from the front, but the tail lights could be purchased at your local BMW dealer. ;-) Also, the last 3 feet of the profile could easily be a Q7.

Some how the front grill reminds me of a Dodge...

Its that rear bumper. Looks very Dodge/Chrysler like.

This car confuses me. it has smooth flowing lines, then jaged sharp straight lines..doesn't seem so cohesive. Especially the rear and front bumper area. The side profile and window line is pretty sharp.

Now that I've seen the new Accord I can say I've seen it.

I think it looks great, significantly better in every way from the previous edition. And what other coupe in this price range is even close to this good-looking?

Seems like every automaker on the planet wants to trade in elegance and understatement for wild and radical. It's really a shame that the less-expensive Civic looks miles better than this overstyled Coupe.

More angles and weird proportions does not = "revolutionary!" Stop following Chris Bangle people!

Anyone that copies BMW is on the right track, but let's face it originality is everything.

It looks like it has SmartKey. Look at this picture:

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/honda-accord-coupe-spy-shots/349712/full/

Doesn't it look like it has the body-colored SmartKey button on the door handle like the one on the Acura RL?

It doesn't matter what German product the MDX copied it handles better than all of them with similiar engines, for the simple people that means non turbo models. This Accord coupe looks good too nice job Honda.

sixstrings,

What rock have you been living under? We're talking about the new MDX just so you know, which has been getting a lot of praise for its handling that equals and in some cases, surpasses the X5's. Here is just one example (take a look at the chart as well):

I'll tell you that the Civic looks much more exciting sitting next to the Accord, and yes I know it's an Si. Still, it's just not right.

Maybe it's the boring wheels and silver color, because the 08 blue coupe caught in one set of spy pics totally kicked butt. Still, I'm tired of making excuses for Honda designs. Color does affect a car's appearance; however, that's one bland ass no matter the color. And the front end design is sloppy and poorly executed - leaves me crying for the Audi-esque
concept detail.

Here's to hoping I'll be silenced when these things hit the street and can be judged in 3-D.

Disagree, other than the fact the Altima coupe is a carbon copy of the previous G, the back end view looks dinky and the tires a way too narrow. Atleast the Accord looks beefy and I gurantee the interior will be better than Nissans typical plastic interior.

In keeping with Honda's design philosophy- forgettable.
