2009 Chevy Traverse Spy Photos...Chevy's Version of the Acadia & Outlook CUVs
Brenda Priddy & Co. have taken some new shots of the upcoming Lamda-based Chevy CUV. GM currently has three CUVs based on this platform, the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook. It is up in the air if Chevrolet is going to stick with the Traverse name when the CUV debuts in 2009.

Great...GM continues to do the "Cannibal Run", they still do not learn their lesson from the past. Bunch of white collar idiots...with pathetic executive decisions.

Rebadge, rebadge, rebadge...do you really need the same car under 4 different names with four different bumpers? I thought GM would of learned their lesson from the 80's and 90's

Yes, why do we need this? How will it be different from the Saturn version?

What is the point of all this stupid rebadging?

Because some Americans want a Chevy badge, some want a GMC badge, and some want a Saturn badge.

I think the Chevy dealers pushed for a Chevy-badged version of the Lambda platform. I believe those actions angered dealer from the other divisions, because the original intent was to try to differentiate the brands and move further away from the process of just redesigning front/rear facias and using different names for basically the same vehicle.

And I do agree with you, GM is in that peculiar position of trying to decide which brand would sell more of the Lambda platform. They know some customers will definitey buy a Chevy, but wouldn't be caught in a Buick or GMC irregardless of the fact the basic vehicle is the same.

I think most would rather have the GMC than the Chevy. GMC is, of course, the upmarket version.

Excuses, excuses...

Nobody REBADGES like GM. Perfect example: Chevy Cobalt and Pontiac G5. Not one automaker is still just slapping on a kidney grille and calling it a different car-- because that's exactly what GM has done. As Motor Trend said, the G5 "fills a niche that nobody noticed was empty."

Toyota, VW, Ford and the rest at least incorporate comprehensive exterior changes, with Toyota and VW having 100% unique bodies for their luxury models that are on shared platforms.

I know that these crossovers are excellent, and I also know that they all look acceptably different, but we don't need FOUR. They're all too close for comfort, even the Buick. A well-optioned Acadia will be more expensive than a mid-level Enclave.

My good die hard toyota friend Chuck came real close to turning in his lexus SUV for an Acadia. After the test drive he was so impressed he tried but was offered too little for his Lex..

This car has arrived, its a hit, why not make another version? people who don't like this car dont understand the styling of america's heart land.. this isn't some west coast mobile or a euro re-hash - it looks and is american inspired and built.

Yes! every-1 rebadges their cars but there is no way an ES330 Looks identical on the outside or inside of a camry and yes is an upscale version but you can see it and feel it.

But GM, the only diff. you will notice on the cars if you put them together is just the grill and the badge. and same goes for Ford.

That is so annoying about those two...

atleast they should change the tail lights and front lights instead of just a stupid grill and a bagde.

GM is once-again trying to spread the cost of an otherwise exellent platform. Instead of concentrating on updating/adding content (and value) to 1 or 2 brand that should have the Lambdas, they're just watering the overall design down to fit each mainstream division.

Somebody mentioned the G5. Total mistake. It would be different if GM didn't sell the G5 in the US, but they seems to operating in a "fear-like" state where they know change will lose thousands of loyal customers. They need to produce vehicles that will steal market share from the competition, and focus on having the highest quality, updated/newest designs, resell value, customer satisfication, and repeat buyers.
