Gallardo Superleggera does the ‘ring in 7:46

Following last week’s controversial post about Porsche’s new 997 GT2 lapping the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife in an amazingly low 7 minutes and 32 seconds, comes the latest track time for Lamborghini’s Gallardo Superleggera. At the hands of Lambo test-driver and 2002 Ferrari Challange World Champion Luigi Moccia, the lightened supercar lapped the 22.8km circuit in a brief 7 minutes and 46 seconds.

Do you realize what you are saying. It's stupid. In this case, a 30 seconds difference range is too big to be significant. Try to finish high school between now and your next post.

Sounds reasonable, the 7:32 for the 911 GT2 is a bit optimistic imo. But of course you can always put on some race tires, use professional drivers. Using both can probably shave 10 seconds or so.

The GT2 is almost a racecar, and considering the less powerful, heavier and therefore slower 997 Turbo can lap the Nordschleife in 7:40 it doesn't sound that optimistic to me.

Currently the fastest production Porsche on the Ring is the Carrera GT with a time of 7:27:98 (7:28).

That 997 Turbo had Pilot Sport cup tires, however a derivate of that tire is available in Germany.

Could have been Tomato.

Now I know that sounds like a joke, but Tomato A&P produce aftermarket upgrades for Kia's and Hyundais in South Korea; kind of like AMG does for Mercedes.
