You sound like a 5 year old.

Even if it does look 5 years old, and even 25 years after this I'd still love it just the way I do the E30 E36 and E46 M3. Timeless!

Yes and your 93 Civic with coffee can exhaust and giant rear wing looks oh so cutting-edge RICEMASTER</sarcasm>

That's a smart-ass statement. Why should any manufacturer radically change a fundamentally nice style. The only thing BMW does not appear to know how to incorporate into its design is a protective side strip that resists parking lot door dings.

You really love your protective side strips don't you ;)

Yes, seriously! The only things EnnNorak would want in a car are Volvo S80 seats and the protective side strips from the XC90.

I don't know where you live, Enn, but nobody has ever dinged my door. My '95 TL did get smashed sideways once, but that's different...

I like to think the BMW "look" as a classic one; it's a style of its own, and when changes do happen its relatively small and needed to keep up with the style and current time. As for Honda looking like BMWs? It just seems like they're copying that classic look, bah.

I'd like to compare the BMW M series look, or any BMW series body for that matter I guess, to the "little black dress" of the car world: a timeless look that suits only certain women/girls. But not too many guys would understand that analogy huh? Oh well..

You should stick to transporting yourself on a skateboard until you are old enough to drive.

I would actually agree with RICEMASTER on this. The 3er coupe, e92, is already looking SOOOO damned boring. There is nothing to really look at anymore except vacant, soulless, surfaces. The GTR, that is a beautiful car.

The E92 3 Series is amazingly beautiful. 335i is the best-looking BMW in years. You're wrong, sorry.

Silver is the most boring color available on any car. I think almost any car is guaranteed to look its best in black.

Too bad about the negative initial reviews of the M3. Welcome to the club BMW fans...

GS200: we're talking about the M3. how is the paint job on your lexus relevant to this conversation?

No gold on the Lexus. There is however, a guy in my neighborhood with a metallic beige W220 with gold emblems and center caps! Needless to say, it's stunning...

perhaps you should follow the thread. lexus wasn't mentioned in the M3 conversation. you decided to wax poetic about your GS.

You wish your 92 Civic looked like this. Why not post a pic of your Civic and compare it to the M3.

Better yet, post a pic of your 92 Civic and compare it to a 92 M3. And go year by year comparing Civics to M3's and let me know which is a better looking car that holds value. And moreso has had a greater impact on the auto industry in general. If BWM never created the M3 there would never have been a IS, G35-37 or S4/RS4.

And I'll admit, the IS, G35-37 and S4/RS4 are all great cars that different people choose for different reasons but to compare the 2007 M3 to a 1992 Civic borders on insanity!

Only the steering wheel looks worth its money, the rest of the interior quality looks real cheap.

Don't confuse quality with blandness. The material quality is good its just that it lacks the flash of rivals interiors. Its very well put together though.

i hate to agree with ricemaster but ive also said before that the the new m3 as a whole does look very similar to the 92-96 civic coupe. with that said, its a very nice shape and i agree that the new 3 series coupe is one of the best designs from bmw. looks great.

i not quite sure how i feel about the lower portion under the front central air dam & vents. sports cars have typically front lip or trim to make it the body of the car lower and have a wider, more aggressive presence. the lower end of the new m3 and the m6 look... incomplete and i think pigeon toed when i look at the m3. i pguess i still refer the styling of the m5 aero kit which reminds me of a pouncing cat.

Previous generation was better and tell me why are BMW and Mercedes cars starting to look alike? This looks just like the C class from the side.

Thank gOD they finally took some pics of one besides the red with the dark wheels. That looks HIDEOUS. This one with the 19's looks beastly. Still the E46 M3 was the pinnacle of BMW design.
