Chevrolet HHR SS released

The American automaker introduces its newest member of the prestigious SS family: the HHR SS. The new HHR SS combines all of the style and capability of the popular HHR family with uncompromising performance, including a turbocharged and intercooled engine that produces 260 horsepower, unique exterior styling and an SS-specific interior.

My wife and I have a 06 HHR LT with the 2.4L 172hp engine, and it has proven to be an excellent car. It's really a fun car to drive. We like it so much, that we are considering maybe jumping on an SS.

Other than the cheesy interior plastic and the "me-too" PT Cruiser theme, it's actually not a bad vehicle. A tall wagon makes much more sense than the many lard-filled utility vehicles that never leave the pavement or tow a trailer.

Now if only GM had the common sense to put manual transmissions in its fun cars...

uncompromising is 260 horsepower? I'd say that's a huge compromise.
