Audi A5 gets the R8 look

Audi A5 gets the R8 look
The German tuner, Hofele, might be the first tuner who wanted to give a special look to the new coupe from Audi. The A5 receives special lamellas in the R8 style which give the new coupe an aggressive look. The lamellas are integrated in the stern bumper and requires no changes at all at the vehicle itself. The parts will be available from autumn 2007.

No they didn't but it will be overpriced with these mods and suckers will pony up the extra money -- you'll see!

I agree with both of you.

Those plastic pieces that they call "lamellas" do NOT fit the personality of the A5. It looks like the German version of putting fake chrome strips on Chrysler 300 V6 models - not classy.

HAHA, R8-Lite anyone? The front doesn't look too bad, it gives it an even more aggressive stance. But the back just looks off. Most likely due to the proportions and dimensions and because it looks flatter.

Ugh, disgusting, it's horrible. I want these tuners to know something: ONLY THE R8 LOOKS GOOD AS THE R8. NOT the A5, NOT the TT, NOT any other Audi!!!

The front is okay, it's the wheels and vents on the rear that's ruining it for me.

weird. i had actually thought those "lamellas" were the real only thing that didnt look that great on the r8. other than those, it looks cool.

I guess so, but they also make the R8 very distinctive. It's still unbelievably beautiful, and I wouldn't really notice them if I owned one!

If they were painted light grey or something, perhaps they would look better, but I don't mind them.

According to a transmission repair video for Audi CVT transmissions, a lamella is a clutch disc, weird.

I'd like to rid the world of the CVT. They can't handle engines of higher power and have reliability issues left to be resolved.

CVT also doesn't allow the use of protective side strips for parking lot door dings. It's annoying. I need those side strips!

The first generation CVT used in Audis has issues, the new one has been pretty solid so far....
