Mercedes rotary powered C111 supercar

At the 1969 Frankfurt Motor Show Mercedes released a radical new concept to the world called the C111, a prototype that would go on to become a test-bed for the carmaker’s future engine technologies. Styled like a big sports coupe, the C111 featured gullwing doors and a bright orange paint-scheme internally known as ‘weissherbst.’

People always say Mercedes is so innovative. LOL So here they copied the rotary engine from Mazda and get credit for it? What a dumb article. Pure bias.

You know david that this was a "experimental car", and that the inventor of the rotary engine is made by Felix Wankel. A german professor. In fact the rotary engine has been out before Mazda even got in thier hands. Mercedes did not copy Mazda. Mazda did not copy Mercedes. The rotary engine has been around since 1951. No Mercedes or Mazda had it at that time.
