Audi A5 will get new FSI and TDI engines with additional refinements that boost output while at the same time maximising efficiency. The 2.7-litre TDI and 3.2-litre FSI, who will reach their UK customers in late October, are priced from £31,640 (the TDI) and £33,230 (the FSI).

I would like to see a comparison between the Audi A5 and the Toyota Solara. IMO the Solara has the upper hand. Looks better, drives better and has better quality inside and out and the better engines. Plus Audi should get rid of AWD and move to RWD like everyone else.

I agree that Audi should offer RWD but only with LSD as I need the LSD for winter traction. Other than that, Audi's AWD system with the Torsen center differential is unstoppable in the worst mountain winter storms even with only all-season tires. I had one experience with my A6 Quattro north of Lake Superior where they closed the highway behind me -- I was the last vehicle to make it through a blinding winter storm.

Where are the new engines? No 1.8 TFSI? No 2.0 TDI?

Audi should offer the 2.8 FSI with quattro.

1.8TFSI in an A5? It's supposed to be in between the A4 and A6 (although it's just an A4 two-door, but that's marketing), so I don't think they'll offer engines that small.

It has already been confirmed that for the homemarket Audi will offer the 1.8 TFSI engine (around 170-180 hp) and probably also the 2.0 TDI (170 hp +).

I think 4 cylinders in a coupe is a bit silly, that why Audi should use the new 2.8 FSI as an entry level model.
