$5500 for a 3 day package to drive the new M3 in Germany

I, like many of you I am sure got that email from BMW North America "Inviting" me to come drive the new M3 in Nurburg, Germany. I am interested in how many out there would drop the $$$ for the 3 day package that is scheduled in October.

Details: Takes place from Oct 1st thru Oct 4th 2007
Location: Nurburg, Germany on the Nurburgring Grand Prix course.
Cost: $5500 per person
Includes: 2 days of extensive "training", behind the scene tours and 3 overnight stays at the Nurburgring Dorint Hotel, and of course "more".

The email is from Martin Birkmann - M Brand Manager and states you can call 1-877-996-5999 to reserve or for more details.

I decided to decline on the offer. If I am going to buy the car, perhaps a better use of the money will be putting towards the payment of the car.

actually that is not too bad of a deal. If I was able to, I would. I have done other driving events across the country for skip barber and BMW M School and for 3 days only paid a $1,000 or so less than that.

You could lease a BMW 328i for $500 a month and take European delivery which will SAVE you even more money and drive in the ring for free (almost).

I say skip this and go to BMW's M-School in Greenville, SC. I did that a few years ago and it was the best 3500 money coulud buy.

I'd rather have the M3 for, oh... five years. It's worth 10X the price, easily. Because that's about how long I'd have it if I ended up with one.
