ahh its alright. Replace the AC vents with normal ones for God's sake, what's the meaning of covering them like that?
So this one is doing the ugly thing of BMW and MB for not having a gear nob? Its ugly not having a gear nob.
It also looks like a Buick from the side head lights.

I agree, Designer1. The front looks a lot like the Buick Lucerne at first glance. Have I just insulted Jaguar or complimented Buick? I'm not sure. I was hoping for something a bit more impressive than this from Jaguar.

I take Audiphile to have complimented Buick. I think the Lucerne is an outstanding value among dometic brands especially once it adopts RWD. I hope it will then be available with LSD for winter traction. The Lucerne can be ordered with the Cadillac DOHC Northstar V-8 which is both fuel effient and powerful at the same time.

The concept was too good to be true. The front is a major disappointment, but at least the rear-end looks great.

Looks like a Dodge Stratus on the exterior and something Lincoln would come up with on the interior. Overall, looks like it took a step back to America, ca. 2005.

I'm sorry, I meant 2001-2003. Here's a pic of a Stratus from then. Note the similarities.

I honestly don't like that side picture- I think it is ugly. The front is sufficiently aggressiveI acutally like it.
I LOVE the covered vents. Jaguar has always been about a certain level of simplicity and ancompasing the the elements within a master design. I love it in that it lends visual simplicity to the interior. I don't like aluminium in car, however.

I agree, but I think the side is very sexy. It's like an Aston.
As for the interior... the "loss" of wood on the dash is made up for by the extensive wood used on the door panels. It makes it seem like a Bentley, with all that wood on the doors. I'm really liking this car!

You know, I should have said I don't like the side image. There is something about it that i'm not so impressed with, but that does not mean I won't like the car. Actually seeing the vehicle in 3D is an entirely different experience and I won't judge it without doing that.

Jaguar's line up has been upsetting after the old Xk8 left the scene, It was renovated into a non luxury exterior looking car that more resembled its big brothers factory (ford). (although im not claiming that ford has more prestegious roots to make it a bigger brother). I hope Jag gets back to its sexy self like with the Xj8 or XJS.

bad job jaguar, this looks like a revised lexus gs, not a good thing. they moved to far from the concept the lights are smaller, the grill is to. it looks long, and ackward. it doesnt look unique enough to be a Jaguar. the interior would have been nice in a Lincoln, but poor job for a jaguar, and a car this expensive..good luck, and what a let down

Actually, I heard the aircon vents slide open when you turn on the car. It sort of reminds me of the E34 BMW 5-series. Everything looks just right. No extreme hard edge angles like the current 5. The side photo isn't the greatest angle. I'll bet it looks alot like the XK from the front but I'd have to see it for myself. Not sure but this would probably be my pick of the midsize luxury sedan segment. This or a Lexus GS. Sorry, I'm not into hard edge extreme design. I'm more into well designed and classy. Too much plastic in todays bimmer exteriors.

Just when you think this new Jaguar XF is going to save Jaguar. But what a big disspointment it turn out to be, it HIDEOUS....compare to the concept one.
I think I stick with the Lexus GS instead of this when I'm in the market for one. It interior look just like a Lincoln interior, side view look like a Buick.
After all the hype and big announcement and getting everyone excited about Jaguar again, than come this fugly car.
Well good luck Jaguar trying to persuade Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, Acura, Audi, and MB customers to this XF.

jagexfart;) but lately Jaguar had NOT bring out anything stunning or beautiful. And what it dam V8 engine? isn't time for a new one already? Almost every brands in this has car that has 450 hp to 500+ hp, except for Jaguar that is. You need to stop living in the past jagfart, there more competition now than in the past. And heritage alone will NOT sales your cars. You need realibility, quality, tecnho, and all of crazy and fansasy thing, got the drift? good....
And I'm talking about now, not in the past you know, so stop mentioning past car. Or at least they should be in the process of making better and more powerful engine.

"Just look at it interior and than look at the Lincoln MKZ, it identical."
What? Are you serious? Just look at the interior and then look at the Lincoln MKZ, completely different. They may both use silver trim, but the XF's is probably real aluminum in some places, as opposed to super-cheap plastic on the Lincoln. That's the ONLY design similarity.
"Almost every brands in this has car that has 450 hp to 500+ hp..."
Lexus? Volvo? Acura? Infiniti? The only brands I can think of that have 400-500hp in their mid-sized sedans right now are... JAGUAR, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. And I hope you know- the 4.2 Supercharged XF isn't even the top of the line model. That's the XFR-R, which will have a 500hp 5.0L V8.
"And heritage alone will NOT sales your cars. You need realibility, quality, tecnho, and all of crazy and fansasy thing..."
Wow, you're ignorant if you haven't figured this out already: in reliability, Jaguar is the #2 luxury brand, only behind Lexus. The XJ is the most reliable full-sized luxury sedan on the market right now.
And technology? This car is just brimming with it. It has everything that the S-Type has been lacking.
In case you haven't noticed, I really like this car.

I don't know what all of you guys are smoking, but I think this Jaguar looks great. The rear is nice with the Audi A5 look alike tailights. However, it is LED lights. The headlights look pretty good to me too. Might not be as good as the concept but I can definitely see the resemblance. It's just not as swoopy, but it's pretty nice considering the headlights of the s-type and x-type. It has more flair to it.

I agree on all of your point. You clearly know a thing or two about Jaguar heritage and design. I didn't like the XK either - sure it looked good - because much of the Jaguar spirit has been lost. I think it is a bit of a cheap move of Jaguar, in order to bump sales, make it look like Aston Martin. A Jag SHOULD NOT LOOK LIKE AN ASTON BUT LIKE A JAG! God that pisses me off. I want to shoot Ian Callum in the head. But first I will kill that methodist who ruined my other favorite brand.

Wow! Jaguar really messed up the XF. When i first saw pictures of the Concept, i knew the XF would be the most beautifully styled car on the road. These pictures show that they have took all of the aggression out of the vehicle to make the side profile resemble an Acura TL.
I have never truly been a fan of Jaguar but I must say In the past, the Jaguar design spoke elegance and prestige. This new look speeks of sportiness and un-originality.
I say release the concept as-is and stop trying to "play-it-safe." What does Jaguar have to lose?

Well I wish they could have gone with the concept lights. The grill is a little smaller then I would have liked. The interior hints at the concept cars in its basic structure. The reality is that Jag does not have the money to produce the concept. I'm sure Ford made them cut corners. Considering this I think Jaguar did a great job. Compared to the current model this one is way more adventerous and finally not retro. Jaguar, if it is to survive, must move away from its traditional look. This car clearly does this. It's not quite as graceful as the concept but I think its very attractive non the less.

And what's up with that interior?? The lay-out is virtually the same as in my Audi A8! And they painted the buttons in a silver-ish colour just like Lexus and Lincoln .. it's cheap looking to me. well like a loyal fan i was praising jaguar at the beginning, but the more i see the car, the more it seems like someone at jaguar decided that they wanted to make the front end look retro, like the ones of buick, the hyundai elantra, or the prev gen sonata. About 45 degrees from the front the car looks very koreanish. Compared to the aggressive style of the cxf, or even the camouflaged front ends of the spyshots(which made this crappy headlamps the shape of the cxf ones), this headlamp completely ruins the whole car, i mean the car looks awesome from the back and from the side, but fromt 45 degree angle (from the corner of the front side) the car looks just hideous. The guys at jaguar who decided to make the headlamps should be fired, because other than the headlamps, the car looks simply great. Unless jaguar redesigns the headlamps soon, i guess it will be a lost cause for the well loved company from coventry. The design director for the front side should be fired.
