2007 Frankfurt Preview: The New 2009 Dodge Journey

The new 2009 Dodge Journey will debut early next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
Dodge Journey is based on an Avenger chassis with a wheelbase lengthened 4.9 inches.

Base engine is a 2.4-liter, 173-hp, 166-lb-ft I4, coupled to a four-speed manual; a 2.7-liter V6 capable of running on E85 is optional and comes with a six-speed transmission.

High-end R/T models come standard with the 3.5-liter V6 coupled to a six-speed auto; an optional all-wheel-drive system is only available with this configuration.

Reminds me of a Ford Freestyle (pardon me, Taurus X,) with the typical dodge grill on the front. BORING! Just give me the Challenger and I'll be happy.

Not bad. Its not great looking, nor is it bad looking. It should sell well, however, I'd rather take one of its competitors such as the GMC Acadia or the Toyota Highlander.

What is the point of this? It looks acceptable, but with the Nitro and Magnum cornering it on either side, the "Journey" has no place in Dodge's lineup.

I need to see this in person. I think the photos make it look way to simialar to the new Caravan. I will reserve judgement untill I see one in person.

I am looking forward to seeing a Lexus IS-F blow this out of the water though.

I'm sorry, but the last thing Dodge needs in their line up is another SUV. Lets see..the Durango, Nitro, Caliber and magnum already serve this. The Nitro is a flop as it is. What about investing the money that is being used for these into developing a family sedan worth buying? This is part of the reason why the big three cannot compete with the Japanese. As the U.S. moves towards more smaller cars, The big three are still into SUV's.
